antiphos Fe is an ideal medium for selectively extracting phosphate from aquarium water, thus counteracting unwanted algal growth. antiphos Fe is a highly active iron based product containing no aluminium and is completely non toxic to aquarium plants and animals. Phosphate is irreversibly bound to the antiphos Fe and is removed from the aquarium when the antiphos Fe is renewed. It is particularly effective in controlling Phosphate in coral reef aquariums and can reduce the phosphate concentration to very low levels for a considerable time. The coarse particle size of antiphos Fe enables high water flow rates, so fluidised filter beds are not required.The binding capacity of antiphos Fe is ca. 10g phosphate/kg. Subject to the conditions 500 ml of antiphos Fe will treat a normally populated 300l aquarium for ca. 3-6 months. The product can be used in fresh and marine water.

Cerapore is a microporous ceramic filter media for use in biofilters. It is produced from pure ceramic fired at high temperature, and is free of residues, so it can be safely used in fresh and saltwater aquaria. Cerapore has an enormous internal surface area which is fully available for bacterial colonisation, and ist open pores are so formed that the media is non- clogging and stays open, even in long-term use. This results in high biological waste reduction rates in a very small volume. Cerapore may be used in trickle filters or in submerged filters. When used submersed, anaerobic areas may be formed in the centre of the media, which may help with nitrate reduction. Under ideal conditions, 1 litre of Cerapore will filter 200 litres of salt or fresh water aerobically.

In a aquarium, phosphate results in an over-fertilization, which results in excess algae growth. ab Aqua Medic antiphos is an absorbent for the removal of phosphate from fresh- and seawater aquariums. ab Aqua Medic antiphos is based on natural zeolite, which has been chemically changed so that it binds phosphate. When the material is saturated it is removed and thereby removing the phosphate completely from the aquarium.1000 ml Aqua Medic antiphos are sufficient for 400 l freshwater or 200 l seawater.
