JBL Punktol

JBL Punktol is an effective remedy for the treatment of many single-celled parasites infecting aquarium fish. Small grainy white dots on the skin, fins and gills of the fish are characteristic of the disease known as "white spot disease" caused in freshwater by Ichthyophthirius. In saltwater, this disease is caused by Cryptocarion. The dots are smaller and more difficult to identify than in freshwater. A thin, velvety, bluey-white skin coating in freshwater fish is an indication of infection with the bean-shaped skin blemisher Costia (Ichthyobodo). If the mouth region is carpeted with a white coating, often seen in thread fish after injuries or previous infections, this is caused by the bell animalcule, Heteropolaria colisarum.

The following unspecific symptoms may also be observed when fish are infected by the parasites mentioned above, or by other parasites: rubbing against decorations in the aquarium, sticky fins, reduced movement, apathy, darker coloring, increased occurrence of mucous, rapid breathing. Further possible parasites are the heart-shaped skim blemisher, Chilodonella, in freshwater, with its counterpart Brooklynella in saltwater, (mainly infecting the gills), Tetrahymena in freshwater and its counterpart Uronema in saltwater, Trichodina and Glossatella (Apiosoma) in freshwater.

Dosage of JBL Punktol:
Add 10 ml fo 100 litres of water. The full dose is repeated on the 3rd, 5th days etc., as required. Immediately before repeating the dose, 30 - 50 % of the water should be changed. Please do not use filter carbon during the application. UV-clarifier should be switched off.

JBL Spirohexol 20 tablets

JBL Spirohexol is an effective preparationto cambat intestinal flagellates of the genus heamita and spironucleus in aquarium fish. The illness caused is commonly known as -hole disease-. Infected fish have a dark body colour and eat poorly or not all. The excrement is white and tringly. Fish which have been infected for a longer period become very thin. Often white, hole-like symptoms may be observed in the region of the fishs head. JBL Spirohexol consists the active substance 2-Amino-5-Nitrothiazol.

Dosage for JBL Spirohexol:
Add1 tablett to 20 litres of water, length of treatment: 1 week, 75% water change after treatmenrt. In obstinate cases, treatment my be repeated following the same procedure. During the medication the water should not be filtered with active carbon and UV-C clarifier should be switched off.

Ektol Cristal is a means for desinfection of fish attacked by ectoparasites. It is recommended to fight all ectoparasites of fresh and salt water fishes. Surprising results are obtained in the fight of fungus and also in cases of unexplainable death of fish. JBL Furanol 20 tablets

JBL Furanol is a high-potency preparation which effectively combats most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria such as Aeromonas, Corynebacterium, Columnaris, Streptococci and many others with the exception of fish tuberculosis. JBL Furanol is well-tolerated and is easily taken in through the gills. After only a few minutes, effective therapeutic concentrations can be detected in all organs. JBL Furanol kills bacteria faster than other medications. JBL Furanol is not harmful to aquarium plants.

Ulcerous, blood-shot ruptures and crater-like depressions (common in coldwater fish), wounds, nibbled fins, swellings, loss of areas of skin or flaking are usually signs of bacterial infection. Distended stomach (dropsy) with protruding scales, protruding eyes, darkening of the skin colour, abnormal swimming movements and wasting away are among the symptoms which may appear in advanced stages of disease.

JBL Fungol is an effective preparation to combat external mycosis (fungal infections) in aquarium fish caused by fungi of the saprolegniaceae family. Symptoms of such an infection are white, cotton like furring which may appear on all external parts of the body. Weakened fish may be oversensitive to the preparation. Begin with half a dose and increase gradually.

JBL Ektol fluid 100 ml

JBL Ektol fluid is an exceptionally effective disinfectant against bacterial and parasitic diseases in aquarium fish. JBL Ektol fluid fights bacteria which cause diseases such as finrot, ulcers, mouth fungus, protruding eyes and abdominal dropsy. JBL Ektol fluid is also beneficial in cases where the fishes behaviour indicates the early stages of a disease (e.g. sticky fins, rubbing against objects) which can as yet not be diagnoses. JBL Ektol fluid prevents secondary fungus infections following treatment against ectoparasites such as ichthyophthirius, oodinum or fungal infections.

JBL Gyrodol 20 ml

JBL Gyrodol is a medication against gill worms (Dactylogyrus), skin worms (Gyrodactylus) and tapeworms (Cestodae) in aquarium fish in fresh and saltwater. JBL Gyrodol contains the effective ingredient Praziquantel. Heavy breathing movements, rubbing on objects, jerky swimming combined with fear colouring or apathic -hanging around- are signs of infection with gill worms. Skin worms are indicated by signs of blood under the skin. Extreme loss of weight despite normal feeding is an indication of tapeworm infection. JBL Gyrodol fights all these kind of worms. In larger fish, infection of the gills can be ascertained by the following simple means: remove suspect fish, lie them on a dump surface and , using pincers, carefully raise a gill lid. The whitish worms can be easily seen using a magnifying glass (10x).

Caution: Do not use Gyrodol with invertebrates (corals, slugs, shell fish, shrimps etc.) in fresh or sea water. Fish without scales (loaches and catfish) and weakened fish may react sensitively to the medication. Start with a half dose before carefully increasing.

Application JBL Gyrodol:
Before application any active carbon must be removed from the filter, UV-C appliances and CO² fertilizers switched off. A 70% change of wtaer should be carried out before treatment is started. Dose: 5 ml for 100 litres of water. After 6 hours 70% water change. One treatment is normally sufficient in the case of skin worms, live-bearing gill worms and tape worms. In the case of egg-laying worms, treatment should be repeated twice at an intervall of one week. 20 ml JBL Gyrodol are sufficient for 400 litrs of aquarium water.
