The water of the aquarium is directed in a thin stream past a UV-C compact lamp housed in a special watertight casing in the JBL AquaCristal UV-C water clarifier. The UV-C rays penetrate the flow of water and kill algae cells as well as bacteria and other germs, successfully eliminating any cloudiness caused by bacteria and floating algae. Since the level of germs in the water is kept to a minimum and the incidence of infection is reduced, the germicidal effect also promotes the health of the fish. The actual physical treatment method itself, using radiation, does not alter the water values in any way and has no negative effect on the cleansing bacteria in the filter which play a vital role in breaking down pollutants.The JBL AquaCristal UV-C water clarifier successfully removes cloudiness caused by floating algae or bacteria.
