With the external flow control valves included, the TetraTec APS 300 can be easily adjusted to provide the right air flow for all purposes like box filters, airstones, action ornaments and undergravel filters.   I bought this because I wanted a pump that is very quiet. It sits in a closed cabinet on top of a soft foam pad. After 2 weeks this APS300 unit started rattling. Something internal vibrates loudly. I managed to stop the noise by propping it against the cabinet wall on a 45 degree angle. Freight costs make a warranty claim worthless (also the shipping is very slow and prior to purchase I sent two questions to the seller but received no response to either) so the next time it starts rattling I'll just toss it in the bin. Sorry, but based on my experience I cannot recommend Tetra Tec APS air pumps.
