| JBL Gyrodol is a medication against gill worms (Dactylogyrus), skin worms (Gyrodactylus) and tapeworms (Cestodae) in aquarium fish in fresh and saltwater. JBL Gyrodol contains the effective ingredient Praziquantel. Heavy breathing movements, rubbing on objects, jerky swimming combined with fear colouring or apathic -hanging around- are signs of infection with gill worms. Skin worms are indicated by signs of blood under the skin. Extreme loss of weight despite normal feeding is an indication of tapeworm infection. JBL Gyrodol fights all these kind of worms. In larger fish, infection of the gills can be ascertained by the following simple means: remove suspect fish, lie them on a dump surface and , using pincers, carefully raise a gill lid. The whitish worms can be easily seen using a magnifying glass (10x). Caution: Do not use Gyrodol with invertebrates (corals, slugs, shell fish, shrimps etc.) in fresh or sea water. Fish without scales (loaches and catfish) and weakened fish may react sensitively to the medication. Start with a half dose before carefully increasing. Application JBL Gyrodol:
Before application any active carbon must be removed from the filter, UV-C appliances and CO² fertilizers switched off. A 70% change of wtaer should be carried out before treatment is started. Dose: 5 ml for 100 litres of water. After 6 hours 70% water change. One treatment is normally sufficient in the case of skin worms, live-bearing gill worms and tape worms. In the case of egg-laying worms, treatment should be repeated twice at an intervall of one week. 20 ml JBL Gyrodol are sufficient for 400 litrs of aquarium water. |
