| PREIS Lavaplan is a long lasting filter material for fresh and seawater aquariums and biological filter and ideal nutritious flooring for aquatic plants. Lavaplan is exeptionally appropriate for long-life biological filters due to its porous surface structure. With ist low mass, its high purity and its neutral pH, PREIS Lavaplan, on the contrary, is a valuable asset to all aquariums. The different grain sizes (2,5 to 5 mm) of Lavaplan allow for efficient water flow which is indispensable for optimal bacterial colonisation. Due to the looseness and light weight of this gravel material, freshwater plants can fully develop their roots, thus enabling them to produce more beautiful and stronger foliage. At the same time, the absorption of nutrients by the roots is facilitated. PREIS Lavaplan is also recommended as flooring in seawater aquariums. It greatly facilitates colonisation by aerobic bacteria. The pH value remains stable and nitrification occurs smoothly. Invertebrates such as anemones, tube worms and cylinder roses dig themselves in and thrive. A great number of small crabs thrive in the loose, oxygen-rich PREIS Lavaplan flooring, providing a source of nutrition for delicate seawater fish. |
