Overview
With a flow rate of up to 1000 liters per hour, the AQUAEL Neo Bio 1000 Internal Filter provides strong, reliable water circulation. The flow rate is adjustable to suit the specific needs of the aquarium and its inhabitants. Even in its standard configuration, the filter offers a comprehensive combination of different filter media. A coarse filter sponge provides mechanical prefiltration and reliably traps larger debris. It also protects shrimp, juvenile fish, and smaller aquarium inhabitants from being drawn into the filter.
Inside, two CarboMAX activated carbon filter cartridges help remove unwanted chemical compounds and discoloration from the water. These are complemented by two polypropylene filter pads for fine filtration and a container of NatureMAX biological filter media. The highly porous structure of the biological filter media provides a large surface area for nitrifying bacteria to colonize, supporting the biological breakdown of ammonium or ammonia and nitrite. If needed, the included filter media can be replaced with other suitable AQUAEL filter media, such as BioCeraMAX or ZeoMAX Plus. This allows filtration to be tailored to the aquarium's specific requirements.
The AQUAEL Neo Bio 1000 Internal Filter also offers considerable flexibility at the water outlet. It includes a wide outlet nozzle with a 180° spray angle that creates gentle water movement over a broad area and supports oxygen supply. Alternatively, a directional nozzle can be used to adjust the water outlet direction through 360°. The sturdy corner mount attaches to the aquarium glass with four strong suction cups. The suction cups can be positioned individually. A flat handle makes it easy to remove the filter for cleaning and maintenance.
A distinctive feature of the AQUAEL Neo Bio 1000 Internal Filter is its expandability. Depending on the aquarium size and desired filter volume, additional Neo Bio 1000 filter modules can be connected. This significantly increases the available filtration area without having to replace the entire filter.
AQUAEL recommends the following configurations:
1 filter module for aquariums up to 250 liters
2 filter modules for aquariums from 250 to 350 liters
3 filter modules for aquariums from 350 to 450 liters
The separately available AQUAEL Neo Bio 1000 Expansion Module connects easily to the existing filtration system and provides additional capacity for biological and specialized filter media.
