The diet of aquatic turtles, semi-aquatic turtles and tortoises depends on species, age, size and natural feeding behaviour. Young animals may have different requirements from adults, and the appropriate proportion of animal- and plant-based ingredients varies considerably. Food should therefore not be selected by shape or pack size alone.

The range includes staple and supplementary foods, sticks, pellets, dried food animals and other specialised products. Compare composition, food size and the manufacturer’s species and age recommendations with the needs of your animal. A supplementary food is not automatically suitable as the sole long-term diet.
