The Fluval SK 400 Surface Skimmer reliably removes surface biofilm, dust, oily films, and other unwanted deposits from the water surface. These surface films can be unsightly and may also impair oxygen exchange and light penetration into the aquarium. The SK 400 keeps the water surface clean while supporting a healthy aquarium environment.

With a maximum flow rate of 400 liters per hour, the Fluval SK 400 is suitable for aquariums up to 400 liters. Power consumption is just 2.8 watts. The floating intake unit is particularly convenient. It automatically adjusts to water level fluctuations, ensuring continuous surface skimming. This allows the skimmer to keep working reliably even when the water level changes due to evaporation, for example.

The intensity of surface skimming can be adjusted separately using the intake control. The overall flow rate can also be precisely adjusted with a dedicated flow control to suit different aquarium sizes and requirements. The integrated outlet diffuser provides a choice of directed or widely dispersed water flow, allowing flexible adjustment of the current in the aquarium. Inside, a fine filter sponge reliably traps the collected particles. This means impurities are not only removed from the surface but also mechanically filtered out of the water circulation. The fine filter sponge helps keep the water consistently clear.
