Overview
The humic substances bind unwanted substances in the water, particularly heavy metals. At the same time, their mild tanning action provides natural protection for the fish's delicate mucus layer. Discusfood Natural Humin may also support the healing of minor lesions and wounds and help reduce the risk of infection in the aquarium.
According to the manufacturer, the natural humic acids inhibit the growth of parasites, algae, and fungi. Natural Humin is also a useful addition during breeding, as humic substances can help prevent fungal growth on eggs. The humic acids give the aquarium water a natural yellowish to brown tint, creating the characteristic blackwater effect found in many South American blackwater biotopes. The intensity of the tint can be adjusted through the dosage. Discusfood Natural Humin is pH-neutral and easy and safe to use.
