Fluval Ammonia Remover AC Filter series is a chemical filter media designed for Fluval AquaClear AC filters. This clinoptilolite-based filter media removes and controls harmful ammonia in freshwater aquariums, thereby helping to improve water quality. Especially in newly set up or heavily stocked aquariums, the Ammonia Remover can be a useful addition to the standard filter media. Ammonia can be harmful to fish and other aquarium inhabitants and should therefore be reliably controlled. The Fluval Ammonia Remover helps bind ammonia from the aquarium water, thereby reducing stress in fish. The filter media is simply placed in the media basket of the AquaClear filter, where it works while the filter is running.
The Fluval Ammonia Remover for AC filters is available in versions suitable for the AC20/AC30, AC50, and AC70/AC110 models. Please select the appropriate version based on your existing AquaClear filter model. The Ammonia Remover is suitable exclusively for freshwater aquariums.
For optimal results, Fluval recommends replacing the Ammonia Remover approximately every 4 weeks. Its use is particularly beneficial in new aquariums, with high stocking densities, or under conditions of increased organic load. Fluval describes the product as a chemical ion-exchange filter medium made of clinoptilolite for the removal and control of ammonia in freshwater aquariums.
