Dennerle Kristall Quartz Gravel in slate gray is a high-quality aquarium gravel for freshwater aquariums. Its natural, subtle gray color complements rock formations, driftwood, and green aquarium plants very well. The substrate has a calmer appearance than very light-colored gravel while harmoniously showcasing fish, shrimp, and plants. The quartz gravel is water-neutral, CO2-resistant, and does not harden the aquarium water. This makes it suitable for planted aquariums with CO2 fertilization and ensures its color remains stable over time. The fine grain size of 1-2 mm is plant-friendly, provides a good surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize, and reduces the accumulation of larger debris between the gravel grains.
Thanks to its rounded edges, Dennerle Kristall Quartz Gravel in slate gray is also suitable for bottom-dwelling fish. The gravel is free of harmful substances, lightfast, and permanently colored with iron oxide to remain water-neutral. According to the manufacturer, the slate gray quartz gravel does not need to be pre-washed before use.
