Overview
Like other Java ferns, Dennerle Plants Microsorum pteropus Narrow is an exceptionally easy-care aquarium plant. It thrives in low to moderate light and does not require CO2 supplementation. Its slow growth keeps maintenance to a minimum, with no need for frequent trimming. Dennerle Plants Microsorum pteropus Narrow develops particularly well as an epiphytic plant attached to driftwood or rocks. The rhizome should not be completely buried in the substrate, as this can cause it to rot. Instead, attach the plant to the desired hardscape material or rest the rhizome loosely on the surface. Over time, its roots will anchor it in place.
The plant is also an excellent choice for shadier areas of the aquarium. It can be placed beneath larger pieces of driftwood, between rock formations, or in the shade of taller plants. In these areas, its slender, fresh foliage creates interesting contrasts and adds structure. Dennerle Plants Microsorum pteropus Narrow is highly tolerant of a wide range of water parameters. This makes it suitable for beginners and experienced aquascapers alike who are looking for an easy-care, long-lasting epiphytic plant.
As with classic Java fern, propagation is achieved by dividing the rhizome or separating daughter plants that may develop on older leaves.
As an in vitro plant supplied in a cup, Dennerle Plants Microsorum pteropus Narrow is cultivated under controlled conditions. The plants are free of unwanted snails and are ideal for hygienically introducing new plants into the aquarium.
