AQUAEL Außenfilter Hypermax BT Thermo

Overview

The AQUAEL Hypermax BT Thermo External Filter is an exceptionally powerful external filter for large freshwater and saltwater aquariums from 200 to 1500 liters. It combines very high filtration performance with integrated heating and modern electronic controls. The filter and heater form a compact unit, eliminating the need for additional heaters inside the aquarium. With a maximum flow rate of 4500 liters per hour, the filter provides strong water circulation. With filter media installed, AQUAEL specifies a realistic flow rate of approximately 2400 l/h. Power consumption ranges from 18 to 36 watts, depending on the selected pump output. Despite its high performance, the filter operates quietly, with a manufacturer-specified noise level of approximately 24 to 44 dB.

A distinctive feature is the pair of electronic heating elements integrated into the filter, each rated at 150 watts. Together, they provide 300 watts of heating power. The temperature can be adjusted from 20 to 33 °C. Since the heating elements are housed entirely inside the filter, the aquarium maintains an uncluttered appearance without additional heaters.

The filter can be operated using either the touchscreen on the filter head or the Aquael BT app. These allow you to adjust the flow rate, check the current water temperature, and configure various operating functions. Settings can also be protected with a PIN to prevent unintended changes. Four operating modes are available for flow control: constant, pulsing, sinusoidal, and intermittent. This allows water movement to be precisely tailored to the aquarium's requirements. The wave period can also be set between 1 and 60 seconds. A programmable feeding function is included as well. At the scheduled feeding times, the filter automatically reduces its output to prevent strong currents from immediately dispersing food throughout the aquarium. Up to four feeding times per day can be programmed. The Day&Night function also allows different flow rates and temperatures for daytime and nighttime. Changes are made gradually rather than abruptly.

With a total volume of up to 31 liters and a usable filter media capacity of 15.9 liters, the AQUAEL Hypermax BT Thermo External Filter provides ample room for a customized selection of filter media. Four filter baskets, each with a volume of 3.6 liters, accommodate mechanical, biological, chemical, or specialized filter media. An easily accessible 1.5-liter prefilter traps larger debris before it reaches the main filter baskets. This extends the cleaning intervals for the main filter. For cleaning, simply remove the prefilter sponge, rinse it, and reinstall it.

For even water movement in large aquariums, the filter features two intake and two outlet lines. This distributes the current more evenly throughout the aquarium and reduces areas with poor circulation. The AQUAEL Hypermax BT Thermo External Filter is also designed for convenient installation and maintenance. An automatic priming system simplifies startup. The dual ball valve system allows safe disconnection of the hoses during maintenance, and integrated wheels make the filled filter easier to move.
