Overview
The waterproof tester uses a built-in amperometric graphite conductivity probe to measure salinity up to 70.00ppt in water, values are automatically temperature compensated by the built-in temperature sensor. The graphite amperometric probe resists oxidation, giving more repeatable readings and is not as susceptible to the polarisation effect as testers using two stainless steel pins.
The modern and waterproof housing not only makes the tester visually attractive for aquarium applications, but you don't have to worry if the tester falls into the aquarium. Operation is very simple with just two buttons, one for power on/off and the other for calibration. Calibration is done at the touch of a button with a default value of 35.00ppt, once calibrated the tester returns to measurement mode. The tester also has a setup mode in the battery compartment which can be used, for example, to set or disable the automatic switch-off between 8 and 60 minutes. The auto-off feature can be used to conserve battery power. The batteries supplied will give approximately 100 hours of use.
