Sera Iron Test

Sera Iron Test (fe) for the exact determination of the iron content in the aquarium water. The test is sufficient for approx. 75 test. Iron is an important trace element for animals and plants but is only present in very small quantities or not at all in tap water. Regular fertilization is therefore necessary in planted aquariums. A deficiency becomes visible as a yellowish to whitish coloration of young plant parts. The ideal iron level is between 0.1 and 0.25 mg/l (ppm). Levels above 0.5 mg/l (ppm) should be avoided, as an excess - especially in combination with other trace elements - promotes the growth of brush and beard algae. Fertilization according to the requirements of the plants is only possible if the iron level is monitored. The sera iron-test is easy to use.
