Application & Installation: Connect the filter to an air pump via airline tubing. Rising air lifts water up the riser tube, drawing aquarium water evenly through the sponge where debris is trapped and biological filtration takes place. Adjust airflow for a steady but not excessive bubble stream. Rinse/squeeze the sponge gently in a bucket of aquarium water when flow declines, never under tap water to preserve the biofilm. Replace the sponge if it becomes brittle or loses structure.
