JBL ProSilent a300 is a new extremely quiet air pump generation for aquaria with a air output of 300 litres per hour. The pump operates at an extremely low noise level due to a completely new construction design incorporating a silencer. JBL ProSilent air pumps are scarcely audible. Precision workmanship and high quality materials ensure long working life. Place the JBL ProSilent pump above the water surface for protecting the pump for flow-back of the water. If the pump is located below the water surface, it is recommended to install a non-return valve in the air hose to the pump.

After 1 year of use: Good quality pump, but not as silent as promised. After a few months in use, on medium workload, it produce the same(or even more) noise as most pumps.Liselott P. at 27.08.2016:
This works great with me, had it now for a few months and am more than satisfied. Good flow and quieter than my previous air pumps. Like that it is standing still - some other "vibrate off" but this is still :)
