Sera Phyto med Protazid

The herbal water treatment Sera Phyto med Protazid contains highly effective quinine (as hydrochloride) obtained from cinchona bark, as an agent. The water treatment can be used for treating white spot disease on freshwater and marine fish, and against other single celled skin parasites such as Ichthyobodo sp., Chilodonella sp. or Piscinoodinium pillulare in freshwater. Ornamental fish in marine water suffering from velvet disease can also be treated successfully with sera Phyto med Protazid. While the treatment is very well tolerated by ornamental fish in fresh and marine water, snails, other invertebrates and algae react sensitively to it.

Application and Dosage Sera Phyto med Protazid:
Against single celled skin parasites: Day 1: dose 1 ml sera Phyto med Protazid per each 15 liters (3.9 US gal.) of aquarium water. Distribute on the water surface, and stir into the aquarium with a spoon or a stick. Day 3: dose 1 ml per each 45 liters (11.9 US gal.) of aquarium water. In severe cases: Day 1: dose 2 ml sera Phyto med Protazid per each 15 liters (3.9 US gal.) of aquarium water. Day 3: dose 1 ml per each 45 liters (11.9 US gal.) of aquarium water. Switch off UV lamps during treatment and aerate the aquarium well. Biological filters may remain in operation. It is recommended to filter the water with active carbon after the treatment is finished.
