• Sera KH Test for the exact determination of the carbonate hardness in fresh or marine water. The test is sufficient for 390 °dKH. In a community aquarium the carbonate hardness should be between 5 and 10 °dkH (saltwater 8 to 12 °dkH) in order to guarantee sufficient pH value stabilization. Carbonate hardness stabilizes the pH value, which can fluctuate due to natural biological processes in aquariums or garden ponds. KH has a direct influence on the pH value and is crucial for its stabilization. A KH value above 5°dKH ensures stable water parameters in community aquariums and ponds. This, for instance, prevents suddenly sinking pH values and creates optimal living conditions for fish, invertebrates, and plants. The sera kH-test makes it easy to determine the carbonate hardness.

  I'been using this product for many years now. Always accurate readings. Also very distinct colours ( from blue to yellow). It lasts for a long time even after opening the bottle.

  The quantity of tests depends on the hardness of your water. The quantity of drops till the coloure changes referrs to the water hardness.
