The drop-in technology is especially practical for technical tanks, sump systems, filter chambers, or custom setups. The cooling coil is fully inserted into the water-carrying section, the cooler is then electrically connected and controlled via the integrated thermostat. This makes the DI 1000 a highly flexible solution for aquarium setups that require reliable temperature reduction but where no additional piping is to be installed.
The heat exchanger is made of titanium, making it suitable for use in aquariums. According to the manufacturer, the TECO DI 1000 is designed for aquariums up to 1,000 liters. This specification is based on an ambient temperature of 30 °C, a water temperature of 25 °C, and a heat load of 0.2 W/L. For higher heat inputs or lower desired water temperatures, the actual aquarium size must be adjusted accordingly.
