Hobby Jungle Star Flowers are dried fruit pods from the tropical Sterculia tree. Their unique star-shaped form makes them a particularly decorative natural product for aquariums, paludariums, and terrariums. Each Jungle Star Flower is an untreated natural product and may therefore vary slightly in shape, size, and color. In the aquarium, the fruit pods release natural tannins and humic substances into the water over an extended period. This can result in a slight amber tint to the water, similar to that found in tropical blackwater biotopes. Hobby Jungle Star Flowers are therefore ideal for naturalistic aquariums, biotope aquariums, shrimp aquariums, and aquascapes featuring roots, driftwood, and rocks.
Their unique structure not only serves as a beautiful focal point but also provides small hiding spots for shrimp, juvenile fish, and other aquarium inhabitants. Biofilms and microorganisms can colonize the surface, which are particularly favored as food by shrimp and other invertebrates. Jungle Star Flowers can also be used as natural decorations in terrariums.

After about 3-4 weeks, the Jungle Star Flowers can be replaced with new ones. - dried fruit pods from the tropical Sterculia tree
