Use silicarbon for controlling silicate and contraphos for controlling phosphate. Dosage, flow rate and replacement intervals depend on the aquarium, measured values and product instructions.

Use silicarbon and contraphos according to measured water values

aqua connect silicarbon and contraphos are specialised filter media for marine aquariums. silicarbon is intended to bind silicate, while contraphos is used for phosphate control. The two products perform different tasks and should be selected according to the water value that has actually been measured.

Before use, check the initial concentration, required quantity, suitable placement and intended water flow. Depending on the product, the medium is used in a filter bag or a suitable filter system. Applying too much media or using it with unsuitable flow can change water parameters more quickly than intended.

Monitor silicate or phosphate during use and replace the medium according to the product instructions and the measured trend. These filter media do not replace identifying the cause of persistently elevated nutrient levels.
