Utricularia graminifolia is an elegant, light green foreground plant. We found this variety at an altitude of 2,000 m in fast-flowing water and emersed in the splash zone of small brooks in Sri Lanka. In aquaria this plant needs medium light to gradually produce a thick but very short carpet. Utricularia has a few unique characteristics: it is a carnivorous plant and produces special bladder traps to capture passing microorganisms. Fish and shrimps are perfectly safe, however.

Dennerle plant-it! In-Vitro plants are cultivated in the laboratory under sterile conditions. They are supplied in a 7 cm, sealed tub filled with nutrition jelly. The small plants are completely free of algae and snails and can be planted directly. This product is ideal for smaller aquaria and Nano Cubes and for modern aquascaping. But they are also suitbale for larger aquariums and tanks which are already setted up.

The top right hand corner of the packaging very clearly shows how much care each plant requires. Before introducing the plants, the nutrient medium simply has to be rinsed and the plants divided. Clean it, cut it, PLANTit!

I have a small aquarium of 40 liters where I have placed this plant to cover the ground. At the beginning it becomes difficult, since you have to separate the plant in small portions, but later it is really satisfactory. It is advisable to use fine grained soil so that the plamta roots better. I have low illumination and no carbon dioxide and even so, the plant is spreading. Very satisfied with delivery times.
