Hobby Bubble Air models are air-driven sponge filters for aquariums. Rising air draws water through the filter sponge, combining gentle water movement with mechanical filtration and biologically active surface area. Different sizes allow the filter to be matched to smaller aquariums, breeding tanks or shrimp tanks.

Operation requires a suitable air pump and airline, and may also require a non-return valve. Check which components are included. Bubble Air 1, 2 and 3 differ in size and filtration capacity. The separately available filter sponge must be selected as the matching replacement part.

Clean the sponge gently in water removed from the aquarium so that as much of the biological population as possible is retained. Match the air volume and filtration performance to the aquarium and to sensitive inhabitants.
