Choose a heater according to aquarium volume, required power, material, dimensions and installation conditions. Check each product to determine whether it has its own thermostat or requires an external controller. For controller models, compare sensor arrangement, switching capacity and the permitted heater or cooling load.

Install heaters where water circulates reliably and observe minimum immersion and dry-running precautions. Match the electrical load to the controller limits and verify the actual temperature with an independent thermometer. Do not operate an unregulated heater unless the product is designed for the chosen external control.
