Choose a thermo external filter by aquarium size and heater output
Thermo external filters combine a canister filter with an integrated heater. This can reduce the amount of equipment visible inside the aquarium, but the filter and heating capacity must both suit the installation. Models differ in flow, filter volume, heater output, temperature control and approved application.
Compare the recommended aquarium volume, stated flow, heater wattage, hose connections and canister dimensions. Actual circulation decreases when hoses, fittings and media add resistance. Check whether the integrated heater is approved for freshwater, marine water or both; suitability varies by model.
The filter requires enough cabinet space and access for maintenance. Product pages show supplied media, hoses and fittings as well as replacement seals, impellers and heater-related components.
